my life in a nutshell (currently) and tips to love yourself

Hey my blogging beauties!

So, it has been a while since I last posted anything (4 months actually). I really do suck at keeping up with this kind of stuff, but I'm going to really try because I do want the world to know about my opinions and how I feel, and I want to know how you all feel too!

Lately, I've just been working (I work at Urban Outfitters) and trying to get things settled for school (I attend Frostburg State University). Life is getting a little stressful now because I'm trying to accomplish everything at once and quickly, but I know I can't succeed like that, so I'm learning to take one step at a time. Me and Scott recently broke up, but we're working on things. I miss him...

I lost my wallet like twice since March, so I have to get my permit renewed (why do I still have a permit and not a license and I'll be 20 in two weeks? Because I suck, that's why). Oh, yes. I turn 20 in two weeks! On August 1st, to be exact. And on that day, there is a Wiz Khalifa concert nearby where I live and I want to go so badly. Hopefully, someone buys me a pit ticket so I can be up close and personal and actually see him. He's my favorite rapper. I LOVE YOU MR. SPACELY!

I also need to find time to clean my room...right now would be a good time...but I'm blogging...so...

So that's my life in a nutshell right now.

Now I have seen a lot of things recently (on Instagram, Twitter, etc etc) about women being insecure and not loving themselves. I was once just like that. I got teased a lot when I was younger because I had a bit of a unibrow and a mustache. At ten years old, I didn't really think that mattered. But kids starting teasing me, saying I look like a man and I probably have a penis blahblah. It affected me harshly, because my mother and father always told me I was beautiful, and I felt like they had been lying to me because all of these kids were calling me ugly. So I cried many nights because I didn't feel pretty. I didn't look like the girls on TV or on the front of magazines. And now? I walk outside confident, proud, and beautiful. And no, not just because I get my eyebrows done and no longer have a mustache due to waxing for almost 5 years now, but because I did these things to make myself know that I am beautiful:

1. Tell yourself you're beautiful every day that you wake up. Even if you think you look like dog poo. Trust me, it works.

2. Do things to make yourself feel better from the INSIDE. Like, eat healthier. Go workout. Get that new lipstick you've been dying to have from Sephora but it was too expensive. Hang with your girls for a girls night. Pray. Anything that relieves your mind of negative thoughts.

3. Keep your house clean. A clean house makes for positive energy. You can't feel ugly when you have a made bed.

4. Fix your posture. Even if you don't feel confident, a straight back with pushed-back shoulders with your head held high tells people that you believe in yourself.

5. Smile. Laugh.

6. I have a hideous crooked tooth on my right side of my mouth. I hate my nose, I feel like it's too big. I have a big head. I have man fingers. All of these flaws that I have make me who I am. Find your flaws and embrace them. You can't change them (I mean you could, but that's unnecessary and like 75,000 dollars). Be blessed that you can see, hear, breathe, smell, and feel. Many people aren't as blessed as you.

7. Accomplish something you've always wanted to do, even if it's complete a Harry Potter book from start to finish or dye your hair a wild, crazy color. Once you feel a sense of accomplishment, your outlook on life will improve.

8. Wake up before noon. Oversleeping causes that hangover look. Of course you'll feel ugly looking like you just woke up from a six-month hibernation. And plus, success happens before noon.

9. Give up all of those clothes that you keep because you think you're going to lose weight and fit into them. Every time you look at them, it depresses your mind because you still can't fit them. So what? They probably aren't that cute anyway. Trash em, and treat yourself with some new clothes.

10. Take selfies more often. I know that sounds silly, but the more comfortable you are with looking at your face, the more comfortable you will be with showing it.

There ya go. You're beautiful, honey. Don't ever let a person who hasn't walked a mile in your shoes let you believe that you aren't beautiful. Beauty isn't just physical. Confidence is beauty. Intelligence is beauty. Ambition is beauty. I know you've got it in you, girl. Go get it.

Love ya <3
